What is CHOICE coaching?

Life change is simpler than we think. Do you believe in the power of your choices?

We make choices every day. While we can’t always control what happens around us, or to us, we are always able to choose how we respond to life’s curveballs. The process of change begins with a conscious decision to change.

At Monarch Life Coaching, “CHOICE” is an acronym that outlines the steps for self-discovery and confident decision-making. This is the framework for my coaching program. Scroll over the letters to uncover the meaning of each step.

CLARIFY YOUR MINDSET

Do you know what you want?

In this step, we come up with a statement of purpose, or “clarifying statement,” to better describe who you are and what you’re all about. This is a simple declaration about how you want to live your life, rather than a description of the “role” you want to fill. You will have many roles in life, but you need to understand what drives you in order to serve those roles well.

HARNESS YOUR VALUES AND BELIEFS

Do your choices align with your values?

Independence, competence, loyalty, integrity, creativity… The key to confident decision-making is in aligning our choices with our core values. What is most important to you? Your values are the cornerstone for a life of purpose and fulfillment; first, you need to know what they are.

OVERCOME OBSTACLES

What’s holding you back?

We face obstacles every day, especially when we try new things. As you pursue change, you will inevitably face obstacles that attempt to “protect” you from the pain or discomfort of growth. These obstacles include our fears, self-sabotaging thoughts, insecurities, etc. We will identify these internal obstacles and create a strategy to overcome them.

INTEGRATE FEAR

What is your fear trying to teach you?

Fear is false energy that averts your route. We need to channel this energy into positive change. I teach you to look to fear as an advisor and friend. We need to understand where your fear comes from, and what it wants to tell you.

CHANGE ACTIVATION

What changes do you need to make to achieve your goals?

It’s time to take action. Together, we will set goals and map out actionable steps to help you reach your destination. Activating change is about rewriting the narrative of your life. Visualizing a future in which you’ve achieved your goals will motivate you to commit to the process of change and growth.

ESTABLISH BOUNDARIES

In what areas of your life do you need balance?

It’s healthy to set personal boundaries to protect yourself from burnout, overwhelm, and hurt. Without boundaries, it is difficult to make progress toward your goals. You’ve done the work to get to this point, and in this final step we strengthen your boundaries to help you make better choices and achieve transformative success.

What can a life coach do for me?

What does coaching look like?

One-on-one coaching sessions with Tom over a period of 12 weeks (to start), paired with online modules to help you make the most of each conversation. Our program will walk you through a series of steps designed to help you envision your future and ultimately take action.
